Networking At ConFab

by Alice on October 26, 2008

Today I am attending the ConFab USA conference where I have the opportunity to connect with management consultants from all over the country www.confabusa.org.  Most of the consultants who attend this conference are members of the Institute of Management Consultants – IMC.  Networking with people in your profession is a great way to expand your networkso you can find people to do business with directly, people to refer your clients to for other services and people who can refer their clients to you.  It is also a great way to have resources available to you when you need to outsource.

Making the most of business networking opportunities like this is imperative.  If you attend and learn from the keynote speakers and implement what you learn that is only one level of utilizing the opportunity.  In order to make the most of it you have to meet people and take an opportunity to get to know them during the conference.  Then be sure and connect with them after the conference in person, by phone, on LinkedIn, Facebook, and other social networking sites.  IMC Norcal has their own version of LinkedIn at www.norcalconsultants.net.  You don’t have to be an IMC member to join the site.

Wanna Make Your Own Biodiesel?

by Alice Heiman on October 26, 2008

In my sales coaching practice I have the opportunity to work with every industry you can imagine.  Today I had the pleasure of running a sales training for Fuelmeister (fuelmeister.com).  Their dealers get together annually and this is the second year I have been part of their annual event.  This year Fuelmeister is selling more biodiesel kits than ever.  The dealers are making new contacts using the internet.  Websites, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, blogging and bookmarking.  These are all good ways to get in front of new audiences.    In the workshop I ran we talked about good old fashion networking to increase business.  All of the dealers left with plans to network in new places.  For my tips on networking go to my website www.aliceheiman.com and click on articles.
